Our Philosophy and Class Information
The Yoga Room offers yoga and pilates classes. Our classes focus on learning correct breathing while developing
strength and flexibility and include a period of meditation and a period of relaxation. Most of our instructors
teach traditional forms of yoga.
- For students new to yoga, we suggest the Beginner class, which will give you the basics and prepare
you to move on to a more advanced class.
- For students who have physical limitations which may prevent them from participating in most yoga
classes, we offer Gentle Yoga. In this class, you will learn postures and stretches that will help you to be
as strong, limber, and flexible as possible. A great additional benefit is watching your self-confidence grow as
you become more comfortable using your body. Since our facility is on the second floor, students must be able to climb
the stairs outside the building in order to come to class.
- Our Yoga and Moderate Yoga classes are appropriate for
students who have taken the Beginner class at least once and are ready to move on to a more challenging class.
Most classes are one hour and fifteen minutes.
- Our Vigorous classes are designed for students who have taken
the Yoga classes several times and are ready to develop a more intense practice. Classes last one
and a half hours.
- Our Deeper Yoga Practice class is for students who wish to learn more about the philosophy
and history of yoga and to develop a more intense practice. Classes last one and one half hours.
- Restorative classes last one and one half hours and are designed to help students
experience deep relaxation. Classes are generally offered once or twice a month. See our Upcoming Events page for more information.
- Pilates students enjoy a vigorous workout while strengthening
their bodies. Many dance students practice Pilates to help develop their beautiful long, lean look. Pilates classes last
one hour.
Special Events
In addition to our regular schedule of classes, the Yoga Room offers lectures, seminars, cooking classes, field trips,
open houses, mini-spa days, and many more special events. Check our Upcoming Events page often for updates.
Services
Several of our instructors offer massage, reiki, reflexology, and other services. The Yoga Room also offers
gift certificates, which can be used toward any of our classes or services. Call or email us to schedule an appointment or to purchase a gift certificate.
Our History
Dawn Perhacs is the owner of the Yoga Room, which opened in 1999 at our current location.
We are very honored to have served so many students and clients, and we hope to continue to serve
their (and your) needs for many more years.
